Actually, the more secular a country is, the more ethical it tends to be. For example, the Scandanavian countries have very low crime rates and very cohesive and supportive cultures. Religion is not guarantee of moral values at all.

The founders intended to form a secular state. That's why the First Amendment prohibits the establishment of a state religion. Your argument is calling for protestantism to be the de facto state religion.

That's not what the founders intended and it would be a very bad thing for America.
