Buddhism, like all religions is internally diverse. If you've met one Buddhist, you've met one Buddhist! I would just mention that although he was very hesitant at first, the Buddha did approve of nuns and convents very early in his mission. Women, including the woman who raised Buddha after his mother died, have always played a role in the tradition. I appreciate your taking the time to share these insights.
